BIGSOUND : 'BLOSSOM INTO THE VOID'

A COLLABORATION WITH MAN & WAH CHEUNG

2018

Along with fifteen leading emerging QLD based Visual Artists I was selected to be a part of QMusic's BIGSOUND Music Festival design team by creating public art to activate the festival site of Fortitude Valley, Brisbane. In the workshop phase of the program we had the opportunity to form ideas and collaborate with other artists from differing backgrounds and practices. We were also lucky enough to have contemporary projection artist Craig Walsh give a talk about his practice as well as industry leading projection mapping technician Lloyd Marsden give us a master class in projection mapping. For the project formed a collaboration with Brisbane Botanic Photographers and Installation Artists Man & Wah Cheung who's Flower Photography and installation pieces seek to remind us of our connection to everything within the cosmos. Bonding over a mutual love for psychedelia and all things cosmic our moving image piece 'Blossom Into The Void' was screened on a large LED screen on stage during the festival acting as a colourful backdrop to many of the bands that played.
